The shortlisted candidates are then required to face a Coast Guard Selection Board (CGSB) located at Delhi. The selection procedure followed by CGSB is three pronged, wherein a candidate is assessed for specific qualities suitable for life in an armed sea-going force. Those who are recommended by the Board and found medically fit, are finally short-listed for appointment in Coast Guard.
